The trip to Calbayog

Gotta buy airline tickets to Calbayog next December at a very early date. Tickets to Mister Layam’s hometown was priced at over 6k per person by 1st week of December, my goodness! So we had only two choices left — the 24 hour bus travel (the roro bus), or via Tacloban airport. Of course we chose the latter.
But I don’t think we’d be travelling to Calbayog via Tacloban again. My butt hurt so much, we were all hungry, and the Little Lady was very stressed, poor baby. We left Manila last Saturday at 10:15 AM and arrived at Calbayog at about 5 PM, when it should have just been just an hour and 15 minutes.
Looking at the bright side, it was still a good travel experience. The Little Lady and I got to see the San Juanico bridge for the first time. She got to see a lot of nature — the mountains, the ocean, and the fields. And of course, we got to take pictures too. So I guess this year’s choice of travel mode is still worth it.

She finally agreed to sit on her seat, not on my lap. Haha

She drew the airplane with the stairs as soon as she settled down!

Good thing we brought her Mega Sketcher, she didn’t notice her popping ears.

Arrived at Tacloban City after an hour. (Check out little me!)

You came here? I didn’t see you. Whenever we arrive in the Philippines we always come in via Tacloban. My wife doesn’t like the small planes they use to come to Calbayog. They are suppose to be upgrading the airport very soon, so I hope it will including making the runway longer so the larger jets can land there. Sometimes we do stay overnight in Tacloban with relatives before we head this way, depending on the time of day. It’s much easier to travel after resting for a night first.
We’re still here in Calbayog, we’ll be leaving on the 29th. The only airlines travelling here from Manila at the moment is AirPhilippines and I guess they kinda took advantage of that. Last year, there were three. Hopefully next year they can accommodate Tiger Airways too, I love their airbuses, they are bigger and much more comfortable.
Oh I see, now that I’m paying attention, you are still here. You will be leaving on the 29th to head to Manila. Maybe I did see you and just didn’t know it.
And I just read your second comment haha! Yep, and we just arrived home from the plaza.
